IMMIGRATION UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2017
A statistical study indicated that some EEA nationals are disillusioned about Brexit and such migrants are consequently leaving the UK in significant numbers, thus enabling a new word: “Brexodus”. However, other statistical studies show that, as a result of the Brexit-inspired fall in the value of the pound, UK manufacturing is booming, big shops and hotels are booming, and employment is at record levels. Maybe their actions are premature.
Anyway, the second reading of the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill passed successfully through the House of Commons.
And a report from HMRC shows that EEA nationals contribute far more to the UK in taxes than they take in benefits.
A trainee solicitor was convicted at Southwark Crown Court of illegally providing immigration advice and services, which may have provided him with some useful direct experience of the legal system.
