Instructing an immigration solicitor UK
There are many immigration solicitors in the UK and a very dense concentration of them in London.
It can be very difficult to decide whom to instruct with your case and very difficult to decide which criteria to adopt in making your choice.
Some solicitors are cheaper than others, and it might be tempting to go for the cheaper option. In some areas of work this might often be a sensible stance but with UK immigration – which is notoriously complex – this may not be the best criterion and certainly should not be the only one. You need solicitors who will dedicatedly and conscientiously apply themselves to the task in hand and go the extra mile to prepare a high-quality application for you.
Word of mouth recommendation from somebody who has experience of a particular solicitors can be useful, but if this is not available you need to do your own research.
But there is one thing which is certain. On an initial meeting with potential solicitors you need to judge and assess them. Do they give the impression of knowing what they are talking about? Do they engage confidently with technicalities? Do they seem generally “switched on”?
The normal range of human psychological skills will enable you to judge effectively about this, and this is your chance to make an effective decision.
