Originally from Ukraine, Yana has been living in London since 2003, with over 9 years dedicated to real estate industry. With extensive knowledge of London property market and network of contacts in EMEA region, she is accustomed to working with clients to deliver bespoke solutions tailored to their precise requirements.

Yana has gained her experience in the UK residential and new home sales and property investments while working for leading companies such as Knight Frank and Berkeley Group. Her most recent experience with Sotheby’s International Realty had expanded her business network further, with the relationships established with brokers in France, Spain, Italy and US.

IMMIGRATION

Since the wave of changes swept across almost all visa categories in October – November 2015, not much has happened in relation to immigration rules over the winter months 2016. Some of our clients should be aware that there has been a proposition to introduce a £1,000-a-year levy on firms employing skilled migrants from outside Europe and an additional English language test for non-EU spouses of British and EU citizens. LANDLORDS TO ENFORCE TENANTS RESIDENCY TEST

The Immigration Act 2014 provisions that requires private landlords to check the immigration status of new tenants before granting residential tenancies is now in force. It commenced from 1st February 2016. The new law obliges landlords to request documents from their prospective tenants to show that they have the legal right to live in the UK. NEW REGISTER OF ‘PEOPLE WITH SIGNIFICANT CONTROL’ (PSC)

New legal requirements will come into force on 6 April 2016, requiring all UK companies and Limited Liability Partnerships to create a statutory register of people with ‘significant control’ over the business (PSCs).
